Open Letter to My Fellow Bloggers.....

My Dear Fellow Bloggers,

I love you, I sincerely do. Let's start with that. I love to see what you create, all of it, everything from homemade pickle recipes to dropcloth slipcovers to garage tranformations...I get a thrill checking out the weekly blog parties and perusing all the terrific talent. To that end, I would love to leave a comment on each and every one of the blogs I visit...but.....

Lately its getting more difficult for me to comment on your amazingly unique and brilliant ideas! I am spending way to much time waiting for pop-ups to load, trying(often in vain) to type in the secret validation word of the day (plathyorg ? einshinz? oenodrg? vieloenr?) This is difficult especially since most of the time I am trying to make dinner, help the kids with spelling, and answer my husband's questions all while trying to comment on your awesome post! Sorry to say, sometimes, I give up and leave without completing my comment. For shame.

Please , please, for the love of all that is sacred...rethink word validation gates. I know, believe me I get those awful comments originating from Ling in China and Farosh in India and Tish in Rhode Island which post a link to a cheesy website that appears as if its primary function is dealing in human trafficking. Or someone trying to find a lost parakeet. Or someone selling knock-off Coach purses from Singapore..Or a good samaritan informing you that you're going to burn in pergatory for all eternity (but they're praying for you--thanks so much!) in response to a post admitting that you happen to love Walmart. I sympathize, I know, they've left their smear on my blog too! Many a time. So, I say: Delete them! Block them! Report them as Spam! Set up comment moderation, and then DELETE them. Trust me, they stop coming after you do that a few dozen times.

While I'm at it, one more teeny thing. People, I love me my  music, but, on my old-timey 2007 Dell Inspiron loading can cause freezes... And at times, not always, but at times Josh Groban's gorgeous rich tenor pipes up waaaayyy too loud. It wakes up the kiddoes whilst I am bloggin' in the wee hours....

Oh, and just one more thing: When, immediately upon clicking your link, tons of pictures that take 10 years to load...and are so big they fill up the screen at highest res, begin to try and overtake over my poor monitor. I can actually hear my CPU groan with the effort. It's like a groan-squeal. Very sad.

My suggestion? Visit your blog like you're someone else, like me, and attempt to comment on your own blog. Trust me. You will see what I am talking about.

Well, that's all for now. In the meantime, I will keep on loving and visiting all the blogs, no matter what. Keep up the great work! You all inspire me so much.

Hugs,
Ann

p.s. Don't take this the wrong way. I have nothing against designer knockoff purses from Singapore.
p.p.s. By the way, yes I am saving up for a new notebook computer with more memory.

  3. It's nice to have a reminder to keep things simple and enjoyable for everyone. The music drives me bonkers too because though it may be lovely, it is disruptive and loud, even on my new computer!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  4. I couldn't agree with you more. I visit a lot of blogs each day and it drives me crazy when I have to jump through the CAPTCHA hoops to get clearance. I never get them right on the first try and it's such a pain.
