Purple Room

Daughter wants purple, daughter gets purple.
Bella's room, BEFORE
Disclaimer: Please bear with me ,as my camera s**ks and was running out of battery as I rushed to snap the "afters". I will update this post as soon as I get new better pics to post, but I wanted to get this posted already as peeeps were asking to see the purple. AFTER:
Sorry the bed is unmade and the room is tiny so it is hard to get a full shot of it....

This is her gallery wall--friends are so uber-important at this age.
Wall arrangement....The shelf I have had forever, a PB scored at a garage sale

Her accomplishments....

Other side of room...awards and accomplishments...

I was a little apprehensive about how a small room would take to a bold, rich color. She did NOT want lavender. But with the pops of white and turquoise , it works.

The wall color really is beautiful. And it doesn't go dark at night, amazingly
I am thinking of making a small vanity corner for her. At 14, almost 15omg!, she needs a space for makeup and hair prep.

The color is: Grape-licious, by Valspar. We used their premium brand, in an eggshell finish. It was thick and dripless...very nice and good coverage. One coat did it.  (not the primer/paint combo, just the regular premium) We barely had enough, but just made it!

The curtains were sheers I've had forever..never know when you are going to need them. They are hiding vertical blinds...a necessary evil in this room where it faces west in hot summers. We just close them up and crank up the air when its hot.

Chandy is PBKids/teen, a gift from a friend. I hooked it up using cup hooks so she can turn it on and off from a switch by her bed. So very easy.

I know, worst pic ever. But I wanted to show you her PB Chandy I hung from the ceiling and the gauzy curtains

The nighstands were CL finds I revamped in this post.
here are one of the nightstands

Her closet is custom by Closet World. I probably could have shanghaied hubs to do one off the shelf from Home Depot--they have these great Martha Stewart closet components now, but I just wanted it done. When the time comes to do my master closet, I will go the Martha DIY route for sure.

So all in all, that's it. She's happy, so am I, but that she is comfy in her room is all that matters.

Make it a Great Day!
Ann
